1/9 Diary

日記

Yesterday, I set the alarm at 7:30 though, I got up at 9:00. I was able to sleep well. Today, I have a class, Swedish Culture, Leisure and Sports. So I needed to eat breakfast and get ready to leave home as soon as possible. The class was planned to start at 10 and finish at 15. Therefore, I also needed to make my lunch. And I decided to take my own coffee from home. That’s why this morning was so tough for me, I had to make breakfast, lunch, and coffee.

At first, I made scrambled eggs as breakfast. I also had some fruit. After that, I made sandwiches, eating breakfast. To make sandwiches, I broiled four pieces of bread and defrosted chicken. After defrosting, I grilled that. I made two chicken sandwiches. And I made coffee and poured it into my bottle.

Today’s class is Swedish Culture, Leisure and Sports. That started at 10 and ended at 15. What we learned in the early class was mainly the professor’s research. Actually, that was boring. But after lunch, we walked in nature and learned a lot about the forest. I experienced a lot of things for the first time. For example, there was a swamp. When the professor jumped, the ground was shaken like an earthquake. That was so funny.

This is a photo of the swanp.

I experienced many things using my tongue. At first, I ate an ant. There was a big house of ants. That was so weird. Professor picked one from that house and threw that into his mouse! He said it tastes like lemon. It made me want to try. So, I threw that into my mouse, and tasted like lemon. I was surprised at that taste. After walking for about one hour, we reached the area for berries. There were three or four kinds of berries, and we tried all of them. Some of them tasted sour, and the other sweet.

The professor was trying to eat ants.

We had walked around the forest for more than two hours. Although I feel really tired, it was good experience for me to learn about the forest and eat something from nature. Next Monday, I can do canoeing in this course. So, I’m excited about that.

After the class, I went to the music shop to talk to the clerk. I wanted to talk about the guitar I’m going to buy in Sweden. I’m planning to start guitar here though, I don’t have any knowledge about music. That’s why I visited there and asked about the guitar. The cheapest guitar in that shop was 1200kr. But the strings of that guitar were made of nylon, so he said that’s not for beginners. I don’t have time that day, so I just talked with the clerk. However, I decided to come here tomorrow and buy a guitar.

Next, I went to the gym to train my body and use a sauna. However, I couldn’t go into there because there was no staff at that time. People who are in a free trial week can’t go into the gym without staff. I made a big mistake. I can’t train that day. Actually, on next day, I had some troubles there. I’ll write about that in the next dairy.

I went back home and ate dinner. I don’t remember what I ate, but it was just an easy one. After the dinner, I did my laundry. When I met with Isaac from the U.S., he invited me to go to the student pub on campus to join the party. And I decided to join that with Haruki from Japan. However, it was about 7 o’clock, so I think it’s too early to join the party. So Haruki and I decided to leave home at 10. But sadly, it started raining at 9, so we lost the motivation to leave home. And we started drinking at our dormitory.

We started that in the living space on the 4th floor, and some people from the 4th floor joined us. It was a really fun time. We talked a lot about each country’s culture. We chatted with each other until 3 or 4 a.m. And went to bed. It was a very nice night!
